Seniors/Masters Summer/Winter Rules
Revised Rules Change 6/3/11, Senior Division
Due to low registration enrollment, the Seniors & Master division have been combined
Senior/Master Division:
Time: 8 min per quarter
Mandatory playing time:
First Half: All players must play one full (unbroken) quarter in the first half.
Exception: Injury/illness (as determined by the referees or player’s coach) in which a player is substituted during the quarter. When another player is inserted into the game, it will count toward the inserted player’s playing time. Even if the inserted player plays a brief time, it will count as playing in that quarter.
Second Half:
Third Quarter:
All players must play at some point in the third quarter. The 3rd quarter will be divided into 2 halves (not perfect but as close as possible). Time will be stopped as close to the four minute mark as possible, so as to NOT interrupt the game. (Change over may occur after a score; a foul; a time-out; a change of possession, etc) The Referee may use his/her discretion to stop play to allow for substitution.
Example: Players 1- 5 play first four minutes (or so) of 3rd quarter. Players 6-10 play the remaining time in the 3rd quarter.
Fourth Quarter: Free Substitution
Major Rule still in place: No player may play more than 3 quarters. Please note that all players must play at least one full quarter in the first half and one half of the third quarter.
Exception: team with less than 8 players (7 or less). Coach from other team is given discretion to pick who will play 4 quarters.
NOTE: Coaches, be careful when you substitute. Incorrect
substitution could mean the team forfeits of the game.
A minimum of five (5) players is required for an official game. In this situation, five players shall play four quarters.
Players will not be penalized for wearing varying colored undershirts.
Bonus Rule
The 1-1 bonus rule will be in effect beginning with the 7th team foul per half. Although we will be playing quarters, not halves; for foul purposes, we will count them per half. The 2 shot bonus rule will be in effect beginning with the 10th team foul per half.
Spectators Rule:
In the event that spectators at a league game become unruly, disorderly, disobedient, or obnoxious, the league officials or referees have the right to stop the game and issue a warning by speaking to both head coaches. The coaches will then speak to the spectators.
